A New London man is due in court today after being arrested by GrotonTown Police have arrested for his role in an assault during a summer party that left several men injured.  19 year old Dameon Shaw faces multiple charges including first-degree assault.  19 year old Glenn Shaw of New London was arrested on similar charges Thursday.

A fire on an outside stairwell at Fat Cats Grill & Bar in Norwich caused damage and forced the restaurant to close for the night.  Fire officials say the interior of the West Main Street restaurant sustained some smoke and water damage.   No injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation

Norwich police found over 800 bags of heroin while making a routine traffic stop on Norman Road finding the drugs and over one-thousand dollars in cash. Placed under arrest on numerous narcotics charges are 27-year-old George Kazakidis and 23-year-old Colin Freschette. Both  are facing additional charges after police say they provided false names to the arresting officers.

Funerals were held for six-year-olds Ana Marquez-Greene and Josephine Gay on Saturday, with calling hours held for fellow student Emilie Parker who was buried in Utah. All flags in Connecticut had been at half staff since the killings on December 14th and were ordered returned to full staff at sunset Saturday by Governor Malloy. Vigils to remember the victims were also held locally in Norwich and Stonington. A total of 20 children and six adults were killed by Adam Lanza during the school attack.
